Leek and Rudyard Railway

Tickets

Whilst government regulations for COVID have been relaxed, all businesses are required to undertake a risk assessment and manage COVID appropriately. Based on this our ticketing and running arrangements are as follows:

We encourage all visitors to purchase tickets by card from the ticket office at Rudyard Station. However we have now reinstated pickups en-route so you can board the train at Hunthouse Wood and The Dam and buy tickets on the train with cash. The Ticket Office on Platform 1 will open for ticket sales approx 15mins before the next train's departure (unfortunately we cannot offer advanced sales).

We have retained the one-way system at Rudyard Station and will keep the platform closed between trains to avoid overcrowding and to give departing passengers plenty of space to leave the train. Note the footbridge is only accessible from the platform (and not the Cafe) for departing customers only. The Cafe can be accessed over the level crossing from the gate behind the signal box.

We are maintaining group segregation on trains and so will seat passengers in their groups in compartments. Frequent cleaning of passenger compartments will take place at various times during the day.

Trains will run hourly on the hour on most running days, but during busy periods trains will depart as soon as full so we can meet demand.

Our toilets have reopened but please note we have reduced capacity due to cleaning requirements.
