Battery Locomotive Details
It was built in about 2006 by Adam Jeffrey from wheels salvaged off an old bogie
and an electric wheelchair. The Wheelchair wheels run on top of the rails to provide
traction. Scrap materials provided the frame. The sophisticated audible warning device
can be seen in the picture
It proved capable of pulling a wagon to the far end of the line and back if it has
good batteries fitted.
It has a 2-2-2 wheel arrangement. The grip of the rubber wheels on the track can
be adjusted.
Its named after the Benny Hill song about Ernie and the fastest milk float in the
west!
Regrettably it has not been used much due to a shortage of spare batteries.
