A full return train trip along the Rudyard lake steam railway takes about 35 minutes if you stay on the train. You can break your journey at any station without extra charge.
On busy days extra trains will be run on the half hours from 11.30am to 3.30pm. Ring Rudyard station to check on the day 01538 306704

Return train fares are: Adult £3.50 Child( 2-12) £2.50 (children under 2 travel free)
Regretfully our adult fares will increase on 3rd January to £4.00 ( last increase was 4 years ago)
No prior booking is needed on any train except for Santa Special steam trains where it is essential to get tickets in advance and special fares apply.
We use steam engines on all our trains which run whatever the weather.
Day Rover Tickets are available for £ 5 adult £3.50 for a child (gives unlimited travel on the day)
Single journey fares are available. please ask the guard on the train.
We do Special Birthday Party Express steam trains for children's or adults birthday parties with options to make the day really special. See the party page
Steam Trains are now running on Saturdays & Sundays, Red days are normal steam train days and other colours special events.

All special events and train services start at 11.00am except the steam gala which starts at 10.30. No booking is needed except for Santa Steam Trains.
Rudyard lake is a romantic, historic site where Rudyard Kipling's parents met and named their son after the spot they where they met. He became a great author and poet and is remembered for the Jungle Book stories
